Open House & Barbecue 2010

On August 22 , 2010 - after only a few weeks of preparations - we had our very first open house and barbecue at our yard. Initially planned only as a barbecue for our team and family it grew a little bigger and we ended up with having 50+ guests, but it was even more fun and everyone had a great time. We had a little show and display with all horses and riders, with a black & white Pas de Deux, a Paso Fino demonstration and some more beautiful displays. On top of all the weather was perfect and since it was such a great event, we decided to do it again in 2011. Many pictures can be seen in our gallery.

Swimming with horses

What could be better and more refreshing on a hot summer day than go swimming with the horses? And it is also a nice change for our horses between all the training and show preparations for the European Championships. It took some convincing to get Paloma into the water but once she was in, she seemed to really enjoy it :-). More photos can be seen in our gallery.

Sad and happy news

We have both very sad and also happy news in June. Gorrion, one of our 2009 foals, left us on June14. He died totally unexpected when during a minor surgery his heart just stopped beating. The doctors and staff at the hospital tried everything to reanimate him but without success. Not only his best buddy Gracioso and his other playmates miss him. Nonetheless our young horses can now enjoy the benefits of a new shelter which we had built in early June. They also have a brand new sandbox for their afternoon nap which they seem to like a lot.

Clinic with Claudia Greb

The clinic with Claudia Greb from Switzerland, held at our yard on June 5 & 6, was almost an international meeting of Paso Fino lovers - we not only had participants and visitors from all over Germany but also from Austria. The two days were filled with intense lessons, good food and a very friendly and relaxed yet concentrated atmosphere and were over all too soon. Everyone benefited from Claudia's vast amount of knowledge and we think of having another clinic in early October.

Since the weather was so beautiful, Marcus Berger took the time for a photoshooting of our young horses - many thanks to him for his time and effort and also to Elsa and Nico, who were never too exhausted to get the horses moving ;-). The results can be seen on our gallery page.

New Pictures

We have new pictures of our four young horses available in our gallery. Both Gracioso and Gorrion have been gelded recently which makes handling them much easier. And all four youngsters can play and run together which they enjoy the most.

Spring has come!

Even though we had only very few warm days until now, our young horses try to make the most of it and use every chance for having a nap in the sun. Eating, running and playing in the field all day long obviously makes them very tired ;-).

New Pictures of our Yearlings

With the beginning of spring the training of our horses under saddle has begun and we also started to work a bit with our young horses. Gracioso and Gorrion, our two boys from 2009, are almost a year old now and we are very pleased with their development. Both are big, healthy and beautiful colts and are - though being completely different - very well gaited. Both are being worked regularly and are easy to handle. New Pictures

For a long time we didn't know what happened to "Desafio del Sastre", one of the two 2006 foals, after he left us as a weanling. We are all the happier now that we received an e-mail from his new owner along with some pictures. He has developed into a very lovely gelding and obviously found a very loving new home near Munich!
We have also some new and current pictures of "Fenix del Sastre". He is living at Sternberghof farm and developing into a very beautiful (now two year old) gelding. Many thanks for the beautiful pictures :-).
