About us

We have been owning, breeding and raising Paso Fino horses for almost fourteen years now. In 1998 we set out to find a nice gelding for trailriding but instead purchased our first mare. Another mare followed and as it sometimes happens, things turned out quite different than they were planned.

How everything started ...

I have been crazy about horses since my early childhood even though I had to beg my parents to let me ride. The first horse I owned was a Haflinger mare called "Lilli" which we bought shortly after my 18th birthday. Due to my back problems we started looking for a gaited horse in the spring of 1998, with Pasos soon becoming my favorites. Back then I didn't know that there are actually a lot of differences between the Paso Fino horse and the Peruvian Paso. The way they were advertised "just get on their back and ride them in gait, there's no special training required" sounded too good to be true and I was hooked.

Despite reading all available articles and books about both breeds my very first visit at the "Sternberghof" farm of Doris and Reini Sperber made all other offers to look at horses redundant. I was instantly mesmerized by those friedly, beautiful horses with their extremely smooth gait. Initially, I was looking for a nice trail gelding but instead I fell in love with a young mare which had her very own idea of what her future life as saddle horse should be like.

During the following years and with the assistance of trainers and other breeders (a very big THANK YOU to Doris Sperber and Carlos Tobon) I have learned a lot about Paso Fino horses. In the meantime I started my own high quality breeding program and our beautiful and lovely mares have convinced the rest of the family, too. After thirteen years now many horses came and some went away, too, the latter most into other loving hands and homes.

In 2007 we were able to get our own barn where we keep our horses and enjoy every day with them. My two Shelties, "July" (Judy gold of Working County and "Da Vinci" (Da Vinci of Sheltie Castle) are another important part of the family and are always with me.
